Catalina Sounds Pinot Gris 2019

When it comes to Pinot Gris – the Kiwis are hard to beat. The cool, New Zealand climate gives their wines a beautiful purity and pretty fruit characters, seen in wines from both the North and South Islands. Marlborough styles tend to be juicy and crisp, and more elegant than the fuller, richer wines from Central Otago.

This Pinot Gris is a little shy and a good everyday drinking syle. It is gently aromatic with exotic guava and pear primary fruits with a touch of spice. It is dry and crisp, a little savoury but continues in its understated style finishing with good concentration and length. Love to see this with some just cooked scallops which would be a match made in heaven.
