O’Leary Walker Seasonal Release Cabernet Shiraz 2020

Share

The team at O’Leary Walker have cast their eyes farther afield in searching for fruit for this cracking little red. And they have successfully landed on a couple of batches that fit the bill for current drinking enjoyment. It is part of the Seasonal Release range from these guys and is made under the eyes of Jack Walker and Luke Broadbent. This is a nice addition to the range which also includes a very good grenache and a pinotage released a little while back. This was a very good vintage in the Barossa and it is captured by the brightness and energy in this classic Aussie blend. Perfumed red fruit aromas on the nose. But it is the palate where this wine really strikes home. There’s a degree of polish and elegance here that captures some of the modern things happening with Barossa reds, especially those in younger hands.
