Allan Scott Marlborough Pinot Gris 2019

Share

I’m a little surprised that Kiwi Pinot Gris is not more popular. These can be gorgeous wines, full of powerful tropical fruit flavours and with a rich creamy texture – it’s the mango daiquiri of the wine world. The cool New Zealand island climate in particular is god’s country for Pinot Gris, with Marlborough one of the standout regions.

This wine is instantly attractive and exotic. It’s full of perfumed floral and pear fruits with a creamy texture well balanced with some crisp acidity. Like many Kiwi Pinot Gris’ it has a touch of sweetness but it all fits together well for a casual drink.
