Andrew Pirie has hit the jackpot in 2019 with what is an absolutely world class sparkling wine. Andrew has been building to this since his first sparkling vintage at Apogee in 2010 with quality slowly rising with each vintage. This is a miraculous wine bursting with youthful vitality which continually improved over a couple of days in the fridge. Pale bronze/ salmon pink, it is deeply vinous thanks to a wide array of aromas from summer red fruits, pear and spice ,with tremendous power and volume, perfectly matched by warm biscuit complexity. Delightful flavour purity is then beautifully offset by subtle, nutty oxidative complexity on a silky palate with acidity and gently tannins providing the perfect backbone to a long, sustained and fine finish.
