Chard Farm The Viper Vineyard Parkburn Valley Pinot Noir 2021

The ‘Viper Vineyard’ (it does feel a bit like someone has been watching too much Kung Fu Panda with these names) provides grapes from the Grandstand Block within it, in the Parkburn Valley sub-region on the western shores of Lake Dunstan with sandy loam over red clay. Red crimson colour, the aromas weave through spices, florals, rose petals, redcurrants and cherries. Good focus, fine balance, and enticingly silky tannins. A long and lingering finish, on which we see some attractive cherry notes emerge. A really appealing Pinot that has four to ten years of pleasure ahead of it.
