Curtis Family Winemakers Cavaliere Shiraz 2021

Pretty contained, not overtly expressive in its fruit; instead, bunchy elements leap out as cinnamon, bramble, and herbal notes. There’s also black olive tapenade, garrigue, cracked black pepper, and liquorice root. With some air, more perfumed and poised nuances appear, dried lavender, black cherries, blood plums, and blackberries. The palate is surprisingly refreshing and satisfying, medium-bodied, with modest fruit presence and a touch of heat from the alcohol. The length is very fine, almost shy.
