Seductive Yarra Valley Pinot Noir from Giant Steps

Share

You have got to hand it to Phil Sexton and Steve Flamsteed from Giant Steps in the Yarra Valley – they make a great team. And winemaker Steve brings a certain sense of cool and effortless character to his wines. They are all delicious and supple, but never take themselves too seriously. And that is why they are so drinkable.

This Pinot Noir is a standout vintage from this Yarra star that oozes that classic Flamsteed drinkability. It opens with beautiful, bright and savoury aromas; seductive wild cherry, potpourri and mushroom soup.  It is light bodied and alluring – a little tart and angular at the moment but all underpinned by brilliant fruit concentration that drives a long and fine finish. Really top Pinot Noir and with some structure to age as well. Drink over the next 10 years.
