Parched Crow Chardonnay 2022

Hunter Chardonnay is often disparaged as the region is seen as unsuitable, yet anyone who has enjoyed any of the many wonderful Tyrrells Vat 47s will know better. There are many other fine examples, as well. This wine may not yet have the track record of Vat 47, but it is a delicious and full-flavoured style which will earn many fans. Deep yellow in colour. Richly flavoured, there are hints of oak still integrating but all seems on track. Stonefruit notes and a smoky hint. A mid-length style at this early stage, though expect that to build. Delicious now and should be for the next four to five years with good intensity maintained for the full journey – I like this a lot.
