Angullong Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Share

Orange has good potential with cabernet sauvignon. The cooler edge to its climate keeps cabernet in check, with its fresh, bright blackcurrant fruits and leafy edge.

This example from Angullong is approachable, thanks to its four years in barrel and bottle. It is deep ruby in colour with blackcurrant and blackberry fruits plus an attractive cedar edge. Dry and fleshy, the wine has layers of ripe fruit with touches of tobacco complexity all well balanced with a backbone of acidity and sandy tannins. It has understated power too, which makes for an approachable and attractive Cabernet well matched to pink lamb chops over the next seven years.
