A more serious attempt at Gamay in this 2022 vintage. Red raspberry, strawberries and rhubarb is counted with nutmeg, five spice and crushed black rock. Wild mint and creeping ivy gives a herbal edge. The palate is languid and silken in texture with a sappyness to the tannins and driving acidity. This has all the Gamay feels and smells more like a hybrid of a few varieties. More importantly it’s delicious and addictive in nature. Drink with bbq abalone or bbq eel nigiri.
