Byron and Harold The Protocol Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

This team may not yet be as well known as some of Margaret River’s big guns when it comes to great Cabernet but with wines like this, it won’t be long before they join that illustrious pantheon. Dark maroon hue, there are notes of black fruits, tobacco leaves, graphite and aniseed. The structure is impeccable, with bright acidity, focus and power, yet also finesse and elegance. The oak is perfectly in place, adding to the wine, yet without any intrusion at all. This is a really impressive Margaret River Cabernet. Still very youthful, it will excel over the next ten to fifteen years.
