Champagne Christian Péligri is a third-generation grower Champagne house. The name may not be familiar given traditionally it has sold its production on the French market, but now it is in Australia. Brut Tradition offers a generous, all-rounder style of Champagne, one that is ripe and sweet-fruited, led by Pinot Noir (80%) with Pinot Meunier (15%) and a sprinkling of Chardonnay (5%). Mid-gold in colour with a bouquet of buttered toast, citrus, peach and oyster shell. Shows some development on the palate, but nevertheless attractive in creamed honey, sweet lemon tart, yellow peach and biscuit, smooth with good bubbly persistence. A sturdy, plump Champagne with sweet notes (9g/L dosage) that is ready to be enjoyed now.
