Domaine de Baronarques Chardonnay 2016

Share

This is not your average chardonnay – a fascinating wine and in many ways is similar to old school Australian chardonnay, but with a distinctive French edge. It comes from the Rothschild family, who are also behind Opus One and Chateau Mouton Rothschild. Quality aspirations are clearly high.

It is ripe, rich and decadent chardonnay with white peach and nectarine fruit all supported by buttery and caramel oak complexity. It is then dry and full-bodied with creamy richness – powerful fruit is matched up to roasted almond oak ferment complexity that leads to a long, tangy and silky finish. This is very serious Southern French Chardonnay that will win many fans.
