Red Hut Central Otago Pinot Noir 2024

Share

A new name on the New Zealand wine scene with some impressive wine credentials, Red Hut, is the brainchild of ex-Villa Maria chief winemaker, Corey Ryan, and wine merchant, Mike Farrugia. Sourced from the Lowburn wine district, an area dominated by and known for Pinot Noir, this is one smart, sub-$30 Central Otago Pinot. Mid-crimson in colour with aromas and flavours that are bright and cherry-infused, it nicely blends fine, sinewy tannins with a strong Pinot presence. Red cherry, red currant, rosemary, fennel seed, thyme and light spice cross the palate with a dusty earthiness. Central Otago ripeness is on display here, flowing, full and supple, ripe and easy.
