One of three Chateaux in the Entre-Deux-Mers under the auspices of vigneron Sebastien Petit. Les 5C represents the five red varieties grown on this estate, in this iteration 20 per cent each of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot – a genuine regional snapshot. Aromatics come straight out of the traditional Cabernet playbook, a crushed elderberry vibe with the faintest of green bell pepper in the background. Old world/ old school. In the mouth these deliver a delicious harmony with fine, palate-coating tannins, long finishing and ultimately most satisfying.
