A blend of the best parcels of Barossa Shiraz from three top sub-regions – Ebenezer, Greenock and Marananga – and a top vintage. You can almost see the sub-regional expressions come alive in the glass: the savouriness of Greenock, the earthy richness of Ebenezer and the fruit intensity of Marananga. It’s all quite rich and imposing in earth, leather, chocolate panforte, blackberry, fruitcake, prune, rum and raisin. It certainly defines what Barossa Shiraz means to many wine lovers, big on flavour, smooth and even in delivery, delivering a boldness of fruit to centre stage in an attractive, polished whole. The outstanding vintage doesn’t hurt, either.
