Straw green in colour and makes an impact from the outset. Pure and juicy grapefruit, white peach, citrus with a warm, almond meal cosiness. Unless the temperature is in the high 30s, don’t be tempted to chill the marrow out of this lovely chardonnay. Should you venture down that path you will be rewarded with an increased appreciation of acidity over fruit. This wine is built on a foundation of racy acidity, attractively so, but lowering the temperature it is served at would do it a disservice. Let the nectarine, white peach, grapefruit pith and mealy, wood smoke shine through.
