Hewitson Falkenberg Shiraz 2021

Share

Named after one of Hewitson’s favourite growers, now retired. Only released in special years (last was 2015). Whole berries only (no stalks) and matured for 18 months in French oak barriques with 25% new. Bottled under cork.  Black fruits and new leather jacket with baking spices, rosewater, toasty oak and a little licorice. Medium bodied, dark and concentrated with tight knit tannin and fine grip. Near pastille with a black tea echo plus a lightness and freshness through the tail that lasts long.
