This comes off a vineyard run by one of Hewitson’s favourite Barossa growers. Falkenberg is certainly one of the famous names of the region. Perfumed red and black fruits on the nose with a subtle coffee and cocoa character. It was fermented for three weeks in open vats before being matured for 18 months in French barriques, of which 25% were new. Seamlessly woven with fine chalky tannins and silky oak working through the medium weight palate. It’s bright and lively.
