Robert Oatley Signature Series Margaret River Chardonnay 2018

The range of styles in the chardonnay world can bring many undone, from crisp, crunchy and almost flavourless to rich, buttery and often quite weighty – one person’s treasure will be another’s trash. Where does this regionally expressive variation stand?

There’s no mistaking it has plenty of flavour in the peach to melon spectrum, and there is some pretty smart French oak playing its part as well, adding up to a measured, medium-bodied style with a lovely gentle line of acidity to encourage a second and third refill. With all that, it’s a delicious food wine that lifts your finest roast chicken to next level deliciousness.
