Hewitson The Ancients Shiraz 2020

Another cracking wine from this wonderful vintage in the Barossa Valley. The fruit comes from a single site above Rowland Flat in the Barossa. An interesting approach has been the use of whole and crushed berries showing a trace of Beaujolais winemaking. It’s lifted and bright as a button with a glowing intensity. Nice combination of dried herbs and subtle ferrous characters. Chalky tannins and finely judged oak complete the picture nicely.
