Hewitson Miss Harry GSM 2020

Titled for the nickname of Dean Hewitson’s daughter Harriet, this is a quintessential easy-drinking Barossa Valley blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre from old vines with an average age of 75 years. It’s ripe, jubey and full of plush cherry/ berry fruit, with a slight savoury curry leaf aroma. On the palate it’s ripe, fleshy and juicy, with some herbal notes of coriander and basil layered throughout the fruit. There’s tannin in balance and freshness from a little astringency, plus a savoury finish. This wine is exactly why we love GSMs so much, and it’s excellent value to boot. Wonderful with a taco of Mexican slow-cooked pork carnitas.
