This wine was a bit of a slow starter but when it finally got into fear it really sung with fleshy, succulent aromas that suck you in – red liquorice, mulberry and chocolate laced with gentle florals, game and tobacco spice. , slight floral notes and game – tobacco spice. For Mataro it is quite generous and open knit with old vines keeping chewy tannins at bay – lovely, bright fruits of the forrest flavours with Barossa dark earths, with impressive levels of fine tannins drawing out a sustained, vibrant finish. A superb expression of old vine fruit.
