A vineyard selection here creates a “super blend” of Hewitson’s best vineyards. Oak maturation is in 1 and 2 year old French barriques. Bottled under cork. Deep garnet colour with a bright purple edge. Floral and punchy nose with violets, plum halves, magnolia, grated chocolate, clove, burnt orange and balanced with umami notes of soy and nori. Full and precise structure, with grainy but fine tannin spreading evenly under a dark-tinged fruit profile. The finish is tight, clean and promising further development.
