Hither & Yon McLaren Vale Mataro Rosé 2023

Mataro, Mourvèdre, Monastrell. Call it as you wish, but the most important thing here is that it can shine by itself without being the third wheel in the GSM love story. It opens with fresh mulberries, black cherries, and pomegranate. It’s vibrant and fragrant, with an earthy, herbal component that reminds me of somewhere, under the summer sun, around the coastal area of Southern France. On the palate, it is ample, spicy, savoury, and screams for some Cassoulet.

Variety: Red Wine, Mataro
