Jack Estate Wrattonbully/Coonawarra Shiraz 2019

Coonawarra and Wrattonbully combine to provide the fruit for this fine regional Shiraz, which already has half a dozen years under its belt. From an excellent vintage, the split here was 88.5% from Wrattonbully, with the remaining 11.5% sourced from Coonawarra. Purple/maroon in colour, this is deeply aromatic. There are notes of licorice, blackberries, herbs, soy, beef stock, chocolate and coffee beans. Some maturity here, but the wine is still fresh with good energy and a long life ahead of it. Fine powdery tannins at the end of impressive length. Well-structured throughout, this is really good buying.
