Katnook’s top shelf The Odyssey is a wine with revered provenance and quality – and out of a stellar 2021 vintage this wine is all that and more. While tempting to pick apart its fruit and berry aromas and flavours, this is a wine far greater than a sum of its separate parts, a seamless weave of black fruits, dark mint, subtle cedars and a lifted vinous breath to begin. Once tasted it’s all about the Cabernet berry characters, sappy varietal tannins, mouthwatering dark grapey flavours, and an upright and solid structure, though never heavy or clunky. That’s the trick to its immense pleasures.
