Marked as Syrah, and clearly performing like a much cooler climate style, the aromas here are quite different to other McLaren Vale Shiraz that Ben Riggs creates. Think bluer to black berries, mushroom, forest floor litter, dark chocolate. The palate is intense, tannins showing their well-toned muscle, black pepper seasoning suggested in the background, lingering for some time. Quite a captivating and moreish style.
