Grapefruit, lemonade and kaffir lime leaf. This Fiano feels like the friend you can bring to a work do knowing she’ll leave with friends of her own. Made with minimal intervention and indigenous yeast, it includes portions fermented in concrete eggs and large-format French oak. In the mouth, the fruit is concentrated and juicy, with boiled sweets, green melon and almond meal. There’s plenty to chew on. The texture is saline, almost briny, and the finish has that slight bitterness typical of Fiano. This is a long-lunch wine. Big, but easy. Whimsical, but nonchalant. Just a yummy bloody wine.
