Pikes Homage Cabernet Malbec 2018

Share

Cabernet and Malbec – it is a uniquely Australian and Clare Valley tradition that shines. The structural and dry Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon pumped up by Malbec’s explosive personality provide the perfect mix of generous fruit and aging potential. There is a Shiraz-like impact that makes wines that are built for pleasure.

Unsurprisingly this version is ripe and generous – ballsy blackberry, spice and violet-scented fruit are well-matched with old oak. It is then packed with old-school fleshy fruit in the mouth but with a solid core of tannins providing backbone. It is balanced and plush too making for a red that will perfectly match a well-cooked steak.
