The rising tide of Adelaide Hills Gamay continues unabated, including this explicitly spicy red-fruit rendition from Sidewood Estate, a wine that exhibits its regional aromatic stance of crimson cherry here with a subtle cedary note as well, the palate oozy and juicy with an enticing lip-smack of acidity seasoned with pops of black pepper and just enough tannin grip to suggest it will handle a decent smoked meat plate and even a juicy T-bone. Let it open to the air as well, as it finds a second wind an hour or so after release. This Gamay genre just gets better and better.
