Small Victories Rosé 2023

Even though Summer is almost over, the Rosé category in Australia continues to shine all year round. This is a classic blend of Grenache and Mataro from a combination of Ashmead family vineyards in Greenock and Murtho in the Riverland. The Grenache steels the show showing aroma typicity with strawberry and sour cherry, alongside some juicier Ribena and jasmine notes from the muscly Mataro component. On the palate there is a watermelon kick with cranberry, ripe peach and some more delicate nuances of orange peel, honeysuckle and liquorice. It’s savoury, dry and refreshing!  I’ve just been to the fish markets so going old-school here and eating prawns tossed in Rosé coloured prawn cocktail sauce, alongside thinly sliced Tuna sashimi with a soy-wasabi dressing. This Rosé tackles heat with ease and sits alongside the texture of the Tuna so nicely.
