Tamar Ridge Grand Assemblage Pinot Noir 2022

Share

The very best parcel from the Kayena Vineyard, the wine is alive with forest berries. Collected blackberries, redcurrants and wild cherries. There are prune plums and black figs laden with an undercurrent of potent spices. Black cardamom, allspice and star anise. Crushed bilberries and bergamot. Sandalwood and cumin. It’s like stumbling across a wild cabin in the woods filled with a cauldron of intoxicating aromas, and for me it’s impossible to resist. Tannins are powdery and fine with trickling acidity to carry the projection of the wine forward. Oak spice is well integrated and allows the wine a long future. Plenty of length and breadth here. Drink now or will cellar for another 3-5 years.
