Nocturne Old Vine Shiraz 2024

Share

Sourced from a site closed to the coast in McLaren Vale. This is a nimble wine filled with black cherries, two tone mulberries and a dash of the old Ribena based concentrate. A touch of black olive skin, wild thyme and black figs. Oak appears to be of minimal use, instead this is focused on the brightness of fruit, succulent acidity and a buoyant sandy tannins frame that allows for the wine to be held upright and will cellar well for another 2-4 years. Although I’d suggest drinking this now and on the reg, as it’s a thrilling little number that meets the weekly dining brief and would be an excellent addition to a party or gathering. If you pick a bottle for BYO head into your local Thai for Beef Pad see ew, this will be ideal. Excellent value.
