This is a brightly fruited, red berry concoction. The luminousness of redcurrants, maraschino cherry and raspberry gels come to mind. There is a hint of goji berry, rooibos tea and picked riberries. Autumn leaves, cumin and powdered pink peppercorn spice. Meticulous in its ripe fruit and dusty fallen leaf litter, acidity floods the sides of the palate. Tannins are precise and fine, providing gentle stepping stones that build over time. It clings like sateen, staying for long moments after you have stopped sipping. It’s an exuberant wine and if it were a dress, it would be one for swirling, dancing and kicking up the heels. This is date night kind of vibes, swoonful. Drink with a prawn cocktail for old times sake.
