The Lane The Southerly Shiraz 2021

Share

Deep crimson and a brooding nose to match – forest fruits, cracked black pepper, salted plum, red licorice straps with hints of star anise and iodine. It’s Shiraz and it’s juicy. Sweet fruit at the fore – a medley of blackberries and mulberries. Vanilla and cracked pepper on the midpalate layered with slightly green but gauze-like tannins. This is a weekday wine with no qualms. In a way it’s ironic, we fixate on ‘special occasion’ wines but speaking as someone in the midst of a renovation, who has recently discovered mice in her pantry, the weekday wine can be just as important. Don’t over think it – you deserve this.
