Vasse Felix Heytesbury Chardonnay 2020

A highly embryonic Heytesbury Chardonnay here that promises to offer much over the next decade. Bright mid straw in colour, it is a picture of power and precision with grapefruit, citrus and particularly floral-scented fruits at its core wrapped up in a blanket of nougat barrel ferment and exceptional, fine-grained oak. The palate remains wound up tight by firm acidity with pure, punchy citrus fruits and new oak a picture of adolescent vitality although it is still not yet ready to show all it has to offer. But everything is in its place suggesting this could be outstanding when given a little more time to flesh out.
