Watkins Chardonnay 2022

Share

There might not be too many educated wine experts going wobbly at the knees over a Langhorne Creek Chardonnay, but they might just be missing out here as this has got a fair bit to like: a glossy mid gold colour to begin, and bang-on aromas of ripe apple and peach with roasted macadamia nut. What follows continues the story, with winemaking combining free-run juice, and a range of pressings, lees worked and barrel impacted, included in the mix. The result is quite tasty, cleverly put together and blooming in the glass with a nice mix of citrus, stone fruit and some woody structural scaffolding. For the price, well done.
