Wooing Tree Central Otago Pinot Noir 2018

The Wooing Tree vineyard is one of the prettiest in Central Otago thanks to its mountain backdrop as well as the beautiful ‘wooing tree’, apparently THE local spot for engagements and weddings. Fans of Central Pinot will love this with its serious complexity and chewy style while still retaining some delicacy.

It’s a big pinot with a bright, mid to deep cherry colour followed by brooding and concentrated aromatics of dark cherry, baked earth and spice, with sweet oak underneath. The palate is then quite punchy and firm with plenty of acidity and tannins sitting under a bed of dark cherry and earthy flavours. There is also an ethereal, almost perfumed finish which helps the wine to rise up above many other wines from this hallowed region for pinot noir.
