Alain Geoffroy Chablis 2019

The old days of great value Chablis are almost gone but occasionally wines like this come along that show the beautiful purity and focus of great Chardonnay from this exceptional wine region. Pale in colour, it opens with a compact core of bright fruits – melon, citrus and chalky aromas providing some classic Chablis character. It is followed by an elegant, dry and acid driven palate, almost light weight, with more chalky and subtle nougat flavours to enjoy before a silky, long finish. It’s a lighter yet still complex style of Chablis to enjoy sooner rather than later.
