Alkimi Duck Pond Vineyard 2021

Share

Duck Pond vineyard is situated at the north-western end of the Mount Dandenong Range. Two parcels make up the wine, one of which is destemmed and, the other, whole bunches.  It is then pressed to old French oak and new Austrian oak for 9 months with a further 18 months in bottle. A dense black core of cherry, Mirabelle plums and blackberry, with the deeper spices of anise, sansho pepper and spiced meats. A layer of red fruits makes itself known on the palate with a hint of rose and strawberry gum. Elegant freshness of acidity meets a fine coating of tannins. Drinking well and will cellar nicely for another 5 years. Pair with Caponata and lamb ribs.
