Tyrrell’s Vat 8 Shiraz Cabernet 2023

Share

The herald multi regional blend, of which 65% is Shiraz from Tyrrells Estate Ashmans and 35% premium Cabernet Sauvignon from Mclaren Vale. This is haunting in its mix of circling blueberries, violets and Bing cherry skin. Some pops of rouge fruit flesh chimes in but it is the marriage of Cabernets structure and the Hunter Valley’s bewitching Shiraz charm that forms a wine that sips well on its own and will evolve over decades in the cellar. This is a benchmark Claret style, but A-typical in its polish, clarity and overall balance. Stunning served with lamb rogan josh or eye fillet and red wine jus.
