Angullong Fossil Hill Montepulciano 2019

Share

In Central Italy, the traditional home for this grape variety, montepulciano is best known for its casual, food friendly, reds, thanks to their combination of juicy acidity and light tannins. This example from Orange is an attractive version that showcases the character of montepulciano combined the elegance seen in the red wines from Orange. It shows layers of bright and pure sour red cherry fruits with a sprinkling of dried herbs and tar leading to a dry palate with fleshy blackberry fruits and just a touch of tannin grip on a lingering finish. It is a casual red well suited to a Margherita pizza.
