Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz 2019

Share

From the cooler vineyards of Coonawarra and aged in French oak, Bin 128 generally provides a more elegant expression of the Penfolds style. The dry vintage though on this occasion has provided compact aromatics of dark fruits with only a dusting of the local choc mint characters. The palate is then dry, firm, sinewy and heavy, lacking in vibrancy of fruit although it does boast good concentration and length. There is also some structure providing aging potential but this wine already seems close to its peak.
