This mere babe deserves time and patience to wake. Time in glass for the En Garde acts like caffeine for an 8am self. Magically. What is pulled out of the hat is a savoury led, varietal expression – cherry choc, cranberry, chinotto and potpourri. Jumping across the palate- the wine is light in body yet firm in footing. Juicy cranberries, rhubarb bite and a soft crescendo of chilli choc, cinnamon spice. Chiselled tannins and an earthiness starting to reveal, together making it that bit more interesting. A wine for the patient and pondering.
