Barons of Barossa Barons Shiraz 2017

Share

The Barons of the Barossa is an institution. Anyone who is anyone in the Barossa is a Baron or wants to be one. And while promoting the Barossa is their mission, this group of esteemed winemakers, such as Stephen Henschke and Peter Gago, also give their time and fruit to make wines that are sold under the Barons label.

This wine is old-fashioned Barossa – it is not showy, it is not oaky, it is just great traditional Barossa Shiraz. Deeply coloured, it is a ripe and generous expression of the Barossa in a classic hearty style – ripe blackberry and baked earth fruits are lifted by a touch of spice and sage. It is then dry, full and firm, with plenty of youthful vitality. But it is not all dense fruit, there is also some elegance too. Moderate well balanced tannins, with a long finish also suggest it has quite a long life ahead.
