The 2023 Bekkers Syrah is fascinating, balletic and light on its feet as it dances between layers of white pepper, sage, red meat and blackberry, none dominating over the other, against a backdrop of classy French oak. Excellent tension and balance to follow with pinpoint balance, playful yet serious at the same time before gliding to long, sustained a focussed finish accented by gravelly tannins. Fantastic winemaking.
