Bekkers Syrah Grenache 2020

Share

Syrah seems a little more successful in McLaren Vale for 2020 with this wine a small step up on the straight Bekkers Grenache showing plenty of heart and soul. Moderate ruby in colour, it opens with punchy mulberry and blackberry fruit aromas with good precision and focus and a very attractive meaty, bay leaf undertow plus earthy tones. More fruit pastilles to be found on what is an ethereal palate with attractive underbelly of spice. Firmish tannins are well balanced and provide good support for a long, complex, and chocolatey finish. it seems a bit more upfront than recent vintages so best to enjoy over the medium term.
