The Cold Soaked Cabernet is fruit from both Orange and Wrattobully. The aromatics of the cool Orange region coupled with the distinction of Wrattonbully soils makes for a wine that is both very drinkable on release but has the capacity for further aging. Blueberries, cassis and Damson plums are met with some old school clove and cedar spice, this is measured though, the wine speaking more of fruit weight and granitic black soils that new oak influence. A slurpy drip line of acidity feels moreish and the whole package is upright and lifted. Some cool lead pencil on the finish. A charming lunch Claret with some kind of beef and kidney pie. Drink now or cellar for 5-8 years further.
