Podere Brizio Brunello di Montalcino 2016

Share

If you loved the 2015 vintage of Podere Brizio Brunello then strap yourself in because the 2016 is at another level, packed full of energy and tension, and built for the cellar. There is great colour to this wine but the fruit is still quite embryonic and only teases with what it will offer in the coming years. Dark cherry, earth and truffle with a sprinkling of dried herbs and supple oak. In the mouth that fruit is all wound up in a blanket of tannins and acidity leaving it a little sinewy right now. But no fear the fruit is there and ready to shine in time. Balance and fruit length are exceptional while underpinned by al dente tannins. Cellar for ten or more years to see this wine in its prime.
